What is Blu-ray?
Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD) is a new optical disc format developed in parallel and competing with HD DVD. The format was developed for high-definition video (HD). Current DVD format video resolutions are 720x480 for NTSC and 720x576 for PAL. Blu-ray resolutions is 1920x1080. The format offers storage capacity of 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. A single-layer Blu-ray can hold over 4.5 hours of high-definition (HD) video or about 12 hours of standard-definition (SD) video. These numbers will be double on a dual-layer Blu-ray.
The following software products are known to be used to authored Blu-ray.
A Blu-ray case is the only form of packaging that is designed for people to easily identify a Blu-ray product. Until Blu-ray dominates the market in the future, we suggest use the Blu-ray cases for packaging so your audience will not put a Blu-ray disc into a standard DVD player.
From the Packaging pull-down choose Blu-ray Cases if you need Blu-ray case packaging.
Artwork templates are listed below the product picture based on the selections you have made under the Packaging pull-down menu. You can submit your master on BD-R, DLT tape(s), or USB 2.0/Firewire hard drive. When you submit the master on BD-R the accptable format should be BDMV. Do not submit BD-R in BDAV format because it is useless for BD replication. For DLT submission the acceptable formats are BD CMF 0.9 and SONY CMF. You can use Windows Backup utility to copy the CMF file set to a high quality DLT III or DLT IV cassette tape. For hard drive submission, the requirement is same as DLT but the BDCMF files are stored on hard drive instead of the DLT cassette tapes
If you place the order online, please include a copy of the online invoice when you send us the master by mail.
New Cyberian Systems guarantees the replicated Blu-ray discs will be exactly the same as the master provided to us by our clients. We will not be liable for any latent errors that are inherent in the content. Please make sure to check and test the master before sending it to us.
